Privacy Policy
WingRadar Privacy Policy
Effective date: 14 September 2026
Overview
WingRadar is designed to help riders coordinate during active group rides. This policy explains what information may be collected, how it may be used, and how users can request deletion.
Location collection during active rides
WingRadar collects precise location information only during active rides when ride coordination features are being used. Location may continue updating while the app is minimized or the screen is locked during an active ride so ride coordination can continue.
Location is shared only with riders who are participating in the same active ride. Location sharing stops when the rider exits the ride or when the leader ends the ride.
Microphone and WingRadio voice messages
WingRadar accesses the microphone only when a user intentionally starts a WingRadio TAP TO TALK transmission. After a one-second preparation period, recording starts automatically, captures approximately five seconds of audio, and stops automatically. WingRadar does not continuously record the microphone as part of normal ride tracking.
The resulting audio is uploaded automatically so that other participants in the same active Ride ID can receive and hear the transmission. The sender does not hear their own transmission. WingRadio recordings are used for ride communication and are not intended to create permanent voice-message history.
WingRadio audio may be stored temporarily on WingRadar’s systems for delivery, reliability, security and cleanup processing. Under the current service design, voice recordings normally expire after a limited retention period, currently approximately 60 minutes, and may also be removed as part of ride or cleanup processing. Expiry does not promise instantaneous deletion.
Voice recordings are not currently transcribed and their spoken content is not used for advertising or profiling.
No hidden tracking
WingRadar does not use hidden location tracking. WingRadar does not track location after a ride ends, does not publicly broadcast rider location, and does not share active ride location outside the same ride group.
Information that may be collected or stored
WingRadar may collect or store information needed to operate ride coordination features, including rider name, account email if sign-in is used, account identifiers, local rider or device identifiers, ride identifiers, active ride membership, leader or rider state, speed, heading, precise location during active rides, status information, timing information, ride continuity state, app preferences such as metric unit, short WingRadio voice recordings, and operational communication metadata such as sender identity and transmission timing.
How information is used
Information is used to operate active ride coordination, show squad status, help riders see ride context, deliver WingRadio transmissions using sender identity and active ride membership, maintain app reliability, and support safety-first ride coordination.
Sharing
During an active ride, riders in the same ride may see rider name, location, speed, and status details needed for coordination. Account email is not described as shown to other riders. WingRadar does not sell rider location data.
WingRadio transmissions are made available to authenticated participants in the same active ride, excluding the sender from delivery. WingRadar does not publicly broadcast these transmissions; users outside that ride are not intended recipients.
Ads
WingRadar does not currently display third-party advertising.
Service providers
WingRadar uses Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple for authentication and account identity. These providers process authentication and profile identity data needed to sign in and maintain an account. WingRadar may also use trusted service providers for notification and background delivery, hosting, security, diagnostics and reliability, according to their own terms and privacy policies. Voice content is not used for advertising or profiling.
On supported Apple devices, WingRadar may use Apple notification and Push to Talk services with supported background audio to enable incoming ride communication while the app is minimized or the device is locked. Supported Android background services may also enable active-ride reception in these states. Device, operating-system, network and battery conditions can affect delivery.
Device and communication identifiers
WingRadar may process temporary device or channel identifiers, including platform notification or Push to Talk tokens, to route active-ride communications to the user’s device. On iOS, an ephemeral Apple Push to Talk token may be registered while participating in an active ride. These identifiers are operational service-delivery metadata, not voice recordings or advertising identifiers.
Data retention
Active ride information is used for live coordination and ride continuity. When a rider exits or a ride ends, real-time location sharing stops. Completed Ride History, including historical location or replay information and related ride history needed for Ride History and Ride Replay, may be retained for up to 30 days after ride completion. Expired completed ride history is automatically deleted after that retention period. Limited operational records may be retained temporarily for security, abuse prevention, diagnostics, reliability, legal compliance, support, or service provider behavior. WingRadar does not promise permanent instant deletion of every record.
WingRadio voice recordings are transient and have separate, limited retention for delivery. The current default expiry is approximately 60 minutes (one hour); expired audio is removed through cleanup processing, and ride lifecycle processing may also remove it. This does not create permanent voice-message history or guarantee deletion at an exact second. Limited operational communication metadata may be retained where necessary for reliability, security and diagnostics.
User deletion requests
Account deletion is available from within WingRadar. An active ride leader must first transfer leadership or end the ride before deleting their account. Users can also request deletion by emailing support. See Delete Account for more information.
Account deletion removes the user's account, profile identifying information and account-associated data, including the user's stored telemetry and location history and WingRadio data. Shared ride records needed to preserve other participants' ride history may remain only in anonymized, non-identifying form. Temporary private WingRadio voice objects associated with the deleted account are removed through the deletion and cleanup process.
Children's privacy
WingRadar is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to WingRadar, contact support so the request can be reviewed.
Safety and device limits
Location accuracy, GPS availability, network connectivity, and battery settings may affect WingRadar behavior. Riders should not rely on the app as their only source of safety information.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated as WingRadar changes. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
